Alt Tags
Every image used on your Webstore has an ALT tag automatically created from the image or product name, search engines use ALT tags for many types of searches.
Alt tags can be seen if you hover over an image with your mouse.
When you add images into the body text field of any page, you can add your own alt tags to them in the upload/insert image field.

Logical URLs
The URL used by your website also influences search engine ranking and unlike many other database websites QuickOrder creates logical URLs based on product and category names. This makes it easier for search engines to find specific pages or products
Example URL for a product
http://www.promoserve.co.uk/products/name/promoserve-10-user-back-office-license-inc-info-services-
Example URL for a category
http://www.promoserve.co.uk/categories/name/promoserve
Web Page Keywords and Metatags
To help your website improve its ranking for specific product categories you can add keywords to the database for each category which will be used by the search engines to find a specific product category
Eg
This can be found by going to Settings, SEO and the General tab will automatically be open.
Category Titles
To allow your category page title to be different from your actual category title (useful if you require a long page title but do not want to show a long title in a navigation bar or category tabs) You can add a seperate title for each category in the edit section for your categories. You can find this option in Products, Categories, Find the category you want and click Edit, the General tab will automatically be open.
Page Names
Every page you create can also be named and given a specific file name to help rank with search engines. You can find this by going to Content, Pages, finding the page you want and clicking Edit, the General tab will automatically be open.
Page Meta Keywords
You can assign different meta keywords to each standard page on your website. This can be found in Contents, Page, find the page you want to add meta keywords to and click Edit, then click the SEO tab at the top left.
Add Blogs via Word Press
This allows you to add lots of content to your website very quickly and easily using this well known third party software package. When added automatically relevant blogs have become a very important component of any search engine optimisation strategy. Available at an additional costs.
Different Title for Home Page
A 'home page title' box is available on the 'general setup' page to enable the home page title to be different to the rest of the site. This can be found in Settings, SEO, the General tab will automatically be open.
Auto Titles & Tags
'meta tags' and page titles are auto created specific to each product in the database and each individual category. You also have this facility for any static page you create (see previous page) -
URL Format Option
Gives you the ability to decide the structure of your URL to enable them to be picked up by specific topics. Usually the sorter the better eg www.website.co.uk/promotionalpens or www.website.co.uk/promotionalpens/calicopen. This can be found in Settings, SEO, then click on URLs at the top left.
Auto Product Descriptions
Are created for each product page from the USP field on the product database
301 redirects
Can be used for all companies who have built up some good SEO ranking with an existing site and are concerned about changing their URL. This helps keep Google interested in your site.
URL Re-direct tool
This tool enables you to manage any potential duplication issues which may effect your rankings and also point any URL to another URL on the site. Can be in conjunction with your Google Webmaster control panel and to perform 301 re-directs

Canonical URLs
Often search engines can find various URLs within a website that link to the same location eg product, this is classed as bad practice by search engines. QOP allows you to dictate to search engines, which URL format to use. Simply by changing a setting in the SEO menu. This can be found as the top drop down in Settings, SEO, then clicking the URLs button in the top left.
