Sage 2010

This guide will walk you through the settings you need to change in order for your PromoServe to continue to work with Sage 2010

New version needs to be installed

Several field mappings have recently changed on the import to use Sage 2010 you will need to be running the latest version of PromoServe which can be downloaded here.

Once done you then need to change the Sage version with Promoserve.

To do this:

-Go into System Functions then go into System Set Up.

-Now go the 'Accounts Interface Settings' Tab at the top.

-From the drop down menu at the top titled 'Package' choose 'Sage Line 50 2010 V16'

-Then press the save tick button at the bottom.

Tax codes on all transactions

In Sage 2010, Sage have changed their import routine to only accept information lines if every entry contains a tax code, we have had to update PromoServe as our customer remittances & supplier payments don't have tax codes for obvious reason.

The new version will now give every payment transaction a T9 code, this will happen at the point of transfering the data to Sage there aren't any changes you need to make when recording payments.

Field Mapping on Data Import

When transfering data from PromoServe to Sage, we use the Import section of Sage, in 2010 Sage have introduced a field mapping structure which means you have to manually match the collumns to the fields in Sage before continuing.

We have created the 3 key maps for you to use, you can download them by clicking on each link below, save them into the 'Field Maps' folder which should be situated in your Local Sage Folder. Then when importing the files click on field mapping and choose the appropiate map for your import.

Default Nominal Codes on Customers

In Sage 2010, Sage have made a change to the customer record import routine, now each customer must have a nominal code associated with it.

To do this you need to log into PromoServe then go to System Functions then System Controls, then find the entry called 'CUSTOMER' - Default Nominal Code double click on this then enter your default sales nominal code.

Please note that if you use different nominal codes for different product ranges then that nominal code will get overwritten when sales orders are placed and the customer code used.

If this is effecting you then we suggest using the default nominal code as shown above then removing the nominal code from the customer record so it doesn't effect your order processing.
